Our aim is to prevent the unnecessary landfilling of timber
by collecting as much waste timber as possible, and to re-use
and recycle as much as possible too.
We re-use wood via sales of timber and recycled wood products
at The Wood Store, and recycle wooden packaging material
via chipping and re-use for gardens and allotments. Other
timber is cut to be sold as recycled firewood.
We have steadily increased the amount of waste wood we collect
year on year, and have also reduced the amount we send to
landfill. We are now collecting around 450 tonnes of waste
timber a year, and return less than 1% of this to the waste
stream.
