Well it's been a week of traffic mayhem in the city with the subsidence of Kingsway. Fortunately our collections team managed to avoid the worst, but hopefully any repairs will be completed swiftly before the summer season gets underway!
We have some new neighbours at Brighton University where a yurt has been installed in the central courtyard. It is hoped that the Totally Yurt space will be a place for creative thinking in teaching, learning and research as well as facilitating the merging of Performance into the Fine Art programme.
The Municipal Market next door to us is again to be used by Brighton Festival. "William Forsythe's choreographic object populates the old municipal market space with hundreds of delicate pendulums, swinging in timed sequences. As you move around without touching the pendulums, your strides and side-steps will produce a lively choreography of manifold and intricate avoidance strategies." Nowhere and Everywhere will be open daily from 3rd-25th May, more information can be found here.
Well, apart from all this, we've been very busy too. Scaffold boards are flying out of the store, and our carpentry team creating some beautiful tables from cable reels, pop in and take a look, we think you'll be impressed!
