The big move?
May 30, 2014
When we moved to our current home in Circus Street, we knew that it was only going to be temporary, but we never dreamt that we would still be here ten years later. In that time we have grown hugely and are now busier and more active than ever.
You may have heard that we've moved which is, and isn't true! If you've called in at the store this year, you may have noticed less dust and noise... This is because we found a suitable warehouse for our carpentry team. The workshop has now moved just behind London Road and are now settled into their new home. It's been a very much appreciated treat working indoors over the winter! As for The Woodstore, well we've spread out into the area that the workshop used to occupy to make things easier to see.We have a greater range of furniture, timber, gifts and art than ever. If you've not popped-in for a while, you'll be very surprised!
Sooner or later we too will have to move. Planning permission has been submitted for the whole of the Circus Street site for redevelopment, but these things can take time, so how long we'll be here is anybody's guess! Rest assured we'll be making a big song-and-dance about it when we do goand will give everybody plenty of notice. We've not chosen our new home just yet, but we won't be disappearing, that's for sure. Over the past fifteen years we're proud to have grown into being a completely self-supporting business with no financial support or grants from local or national government.
On a lighter note, if you'd like a nosey in the Old Market next door, why not pop down tomorrow afternoon between 1pm and 5pm for the Brighton Fringe Urban Artfest. There's a whole host things going on, find out more about it here. You could even pop in to us next door and say hello ;o)
