We're lucky to have some very talented customers and it's always great to see what people get up to with the wood that they get from our store. We often get photos of projects that show incredible skill, creativity and imgination. This week we received this photo from Steve Wilson who has just completed a three year course studying blacksmithing and metalwork at Plumpton College. His final project combines a salvaged cable reel with a giant pair of tailors' scissors as a light feature for a tailoring shop. We all love it here and think that it's brilliant. You see more of what Steve gets up to on his facebook page here. We think that it's well worth a 'Like' to see what he gets up to in the future.
This week our carpentry team have been going flat-out to keep up with the demand for furnture orders. It's no surprise that planters are very popular at this time of year, don't forget that we make them to measure so they look perfectly in place when you get them home. From the collections side we've now got pallets back in, tons of MDF, a glut of firedoors (that make excellent desktops) and the usual cornucopia of the bizarre and obscure (including a cleaners sink crying out to be made into a planter!). Hope to see you soon!
