INTRODUCTION TO POWER TOOLS 

 

Get to grips with the most commonly used power tools and start those DIY projects you’ve been putting off. This practical workshop is designed to teach you how to use the tools efficiently and safely. It's a chance for you to spend time in our workshop and get to know the tools in a safe environment and ask all the questions you can think of.

Tools covered:

  • Impact Driver/Drill Driver/SDS Drill

  • Orbital Sander

  • Belt Sander

  • Electric Plane

  • Biscuit Jointer

  • Jig Saw

  • Chop Saw

  • Duration: 3.5 hours

  • Cost: £60

  • 4 participants per workshop. Ages 16+

Please be aware there is limited parking at our Oakley House site. You will need to wear steel toe cap boots. Please bring your own pair if possible a we only have a limited number of boots. All other PPE is provided by us. There will be a 15 minute break with tea, coffee and biscuits provided.  

FINISHING WORKSHOP

 

This workshop covers the preparation and finishing of timber. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of using oil, varnish or wax. Learn about the different oils such as teak, linseed, danish and hard wax. Get to grips with a variety of brands such as OSMO, Rustins and Briwax.

  • Duration: 3.5 hours

  • Cost: £60

  • 4 participants per workshop. Ages 16+
